Student research
I have served as a research mentor for the following undergraduate research programs:
- From Summer 2018 until Spring 2019, I advised Nate Lesnevich '19 on his research and honors thesis on the topic of P-partition generating functions. Nate sucessfully defended his honors thesis entitled "Positivty among P-partition Generating Functions of Partially Ordered Sets" in April 2019. The journal paper based on this thesis has been published in Annals of Combinatorics.
- The Bucknell University Research Group (the BURG). I have done in-semester research with Joe Ruby '11, Ryan Ward '11, Tung Phan '17 and Anh Tran '24. Ryan Ward successfully defended his honors thesis "Equality of P-partition Generating Functions" in April 2011. The journal paper based on this thesis has been published in Annals of Combinatorics.
- Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, Summer 2004. My students were Drew Lewis from the University of Alabama, and Stefan Leichenauer from Brown University, both of whose projects were in Matrix Analysis. Leichenauer's project resulted in a paper published in Linear Algebra and its Applications.
- Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR), MIT, Summer 2001. My student was Paisa Seeluangsawat, whose project concerned the combinatorics of hyperplane arrangements.
During Spring 2020, together with Jean-Christophe Aval, I supervised the masters thesis of Karimatou Djenabou at the Institut de Mathématiques de Bordeaux at the Université de Bordeaux.
