please continue to study Chapter 9 on frequency response and filters,
Sections 9-1 through 9-7.
Read Section 9-6 (pp. 433-438) on Active Filters before your lab session on
Feb. 6 or 7.
Please look at the notes on
crossover network filter design before your lab session on
Feb. 6 or 7 (a hard copy of the notes will be provided in lab).
We will discuss these notes in lab on Feb. 6-7 and in class on Feb. 9.
Please study Chapter 8 on ac power, Sections 8-1 through 8-3,
for classes on Feb. 7 and 9.
Labs:
We will have
Lab 2
on Feb. 6 & 7, and no labs on Feb. 13-14 and 20-21.
Reports for Labs 1 and 2 are due in class on Thursday, Feb. 9
(one report per lab group).
The
course syllabus
is finalized, and we will have mid-term exams on
Thursday, February 23 and Tuesday, April 3.
No homework problems are due on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Please submit your reports for Labs 1 and 2 in class on Feb. 9
(one report per lab group), according to the guidelines in
Lab 2.
Homework 4
will contain problems on filter design
and ac power (Chapter 8), with items due on Feb. 14 and 16.
Then Homework 5 will have some problems due on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and
Exam 1 will be on Thursday, Feb. 23.
Our goal is to finish filters and ac power before Exam 1, and then move on to
magnetic circuits and transformers.
