Reading:
- In the Nilsson/Riedel text, continue to study Chapter 3, particularly Sections 3.5, 3.6, and 3.7.
- Begin reading Chapter 4, Sections 4.9-4.11 on Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits (we will use this in Lab 2 on Sept. 18).
- Then read Sections 4.1-4.4 (node-voltage method) and 4.5-4.8 (mesh-current method).
Please solve the following problems, and submit solutions on September 17:
Chapter 3: Problems 10, 11, 24, 25, 26, 14, 17, 18, 49, and 53.
** Note: Problem 3.53 is not required for Homework 3 and will be part of Homework 4, as announced in class on Sept. 15. **
Please solve problem 3.10 using PSpice and submit a printout of your PSpice circuit (showing the power dissipated by the 30 ohm resistor) on Sept. 17.
Extra Credit: Use PSpice to solve Problem 2.31 in the text and find the current i_delta, the voltage v_o, and the power of each element in the circuit. Recall that we analyzed this problem in class on Monday, Sept. 8, and this was listed as the "Challenge" in Lab 1.
